Abstract: THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION SECURITY POLICIES ON BUSINESS OPERATIONS

This study examines the impact of information security policies on business operations. Objectives include identifying critical information security policies, evaluating their effectiveness in protecting business data, and assessing their impact on operational efficiency. A survey design is utilized for its ability to collect extensive data across various industries. The sample size, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula, includes 340 respondents, ensuring a representative sample. The research focuses on the financial services sector in Lagos, a critical area for information security. The reliability coefficient score for the survey instrument is 0.87, indicating high reliability. Findings reveal that strong information security policies are essential for protecting business data and ensuring smooth operations. The study recommends that organizations should prioritize information security to safeguard their assets and maintain operational efficiency.
